Food: Today, Tomorrow, Together - GFSA was pleased to be a part of organizing Alberta's first provincial food security conference which was held in Edmonton, January 29-31, 2009.  The conference was a huge success! A second, one-day event event was held February 18, 2010 in Calgary. For more information see the Event Promotion Flyer or visit the Alberta Farmers Market Association web site.

 

In 2011, in partnership with ReThink Red Deer, GFSA led the development of the food stream of the Pathways to Sustainability Conference (P2S). The P2S conference was held in Red Deer at the Red Deer College's new Trades Wing Expansion, "Building Communities Through Learning". The three-day event examined food, fuel (energy), and finance for building local resilient economies and featured 5 keynote speakers, dozens of presenters and showcased almost 100% locally-sourced Alberta food!
